Under the warm embrace of the sun, a quiet venue at University of the Philippines BGC Campus (UP BGC) came alive with vibrant colors, more than dozens of exhibitors with natural and organic products, organic foods, wellness and yoga guru(s), health workers, came to celebrate the festival with brighter smiles. The Lunas Pilipinas Bayanihan Health and Wellness Festival which partnered with BOSS magazine PH wasn’t just another event—it was a celebration of hope, health, and the power of community.
Families, young and old, lined up eagerly at different booths offering free medical consultations, herbal remedies, and wellness talks from the experts and specialists. For many, this was their first opportunity to access quality healthcare without financial burden.
One of the festival-goers, Aling Mely, a 58-year-old grandmother who had travelled eight kilometers to attend, held back tears after her free check-upa. “I’ve been feeling unwell for months, but I couldn’t afford to see a doctor,” she said. “Today, they not only checked my blood pressure, but they also taught me how to take care of myself better.”
At another booth, teens giggled as volunteers gave them free healthy snacks, while their parents participated in stress-relief chiropractor and frequency massage free of charge. A powerful moment unfolded when a single father, Mang Tonyo, learned from nutritionists how to better care for his two children. “This isn’t just about today—it’s about learning to build a healthier future for my family,” he said.
Beyond the services, the festival radiated a deep sense of bayanihan—the Filipino spirit of communal unity. Volunteers, healthcare workers, and advocates worked hand-in-hand to create an environment of compassion and care.
There was also an art activity where participants have displayed their skills in impromptu art painting of their chosen subject. Art exhibit by artist like Percy Denolo splendid! He even performs his mud art exhibition for the audience. His world class performance as Asia’s one and only mud art was simply amazing!
Atty. Tanya Lat, convenor of Lunas Pilipinas, reflected on its purpose. “We want to remind people that wellness is a right, not a privilege. This isn’t just about treating illnesses—it’s about empowering communities to thrive.”
As the second day of the event ended, the event was indeed filled with gratitude. The Lunas Pilipinas Bayanihan Health and Wellness Festival wasn’t just an event—it was a reminder of the profound impact of kindness, connection, and collective healing.
This two-day event was sponsored by GenQi, Waters Philippines and Prife.
